The background check fee covers the cost of the credit and criminal background check.  This fee needs to be paid when you turn in your rental application.

The fees are calculated differently depending on characteristics of the applicant(s).  As of September 2023, the fees are:

$45 for each single individual (if more than one adult, cost is separate for each adult)

$20 additional if using a married name or have a previous legal name

Note:  we do not make money on background check fees and will pass along the actual cost, which is subject to change per our vendors.  If you have questions about the exact fee amount, inquire at the time you submit your application and an exact cost will be provided.
